Cooking classes

What happens during a cooking class?

Welcome to Team Kitchen, let’s get started!

The evening begins with our cheerful assistants welcoming the guests in our cozy lounge. From there, everyone is invited to the kitchen, where our chef takes charge, steering everyone through the evening’s cooking assignments and recipes as well as dividing the participants into groups. Each group is given one or more cooking assignment, offering just the right level of challenge to everyone. Our experienced chef will be guiding the participants throughout the class and will also be sharing their best tips to ensure everyone’s success. Nobody will be left struggling or allowed to fall behind.

When the pots and pans are cooling down and the mixers have fallen silent, it’s time to sit down for dinner at the table, beautifully set up by our wonderful kitchen assistants. The cooking class always results in a gourmet dinner with a minimum of three courses. As each course is served, the participants present the food they have prepared and each course is paired with just the right beverages. Thus, our busy kitchen has turned into a cozy gourmet restaurant, where everyone knows the chef.

The evening ends at 10 PM at the latest (or later, if agreed), with everyone’s bellies full and cheeks probably a bit sore after all the good laughs and happy vibes from the shared successes in the kitchen.

And by the way, you don’t have to worry about doing any dishes. Our diligent kitchen assistants will take care of them for you.

Some information about our classes:

  • We offer courses between 10 AM and 10 PM. The duration of a class is about four hours.
  • Our classes are designed for companies, associations and any other types of groups. Each class is tailored to meet the group’s specific needs, so that’s why we don’t arrange any walk-in classes.
  • All classes are full-service. This means that we have a top-level chef instructing the classes as well as very competent personnel for setting the table, service during dinner, and doing the dishes as well as cleaning up afterwards.
  • You will get to keep all the recipes both as a memento and for further use at home. Should anyone dare to question your cooking skills, they will be promptly silenced by the tasty dishes you have learned how to prepare with us.
  • So, who should spend an evening cooking with us? We think Team Kitchen is a perfect fit for teams deserving a reward for a job well done, or for groups just wanting to relax together after work. Our classes are also a great alternative for teams wanting to get to know each other a little better and getting that great team spirit going. Cooking together provides the perfect setting for becoming fast friends.
  • Teamwork is elevated to another level at Team Kitchen. There are no “my job and your job” situations in a kitchen, as everyone has the same, clear objective: a delicious dinner.
  • An evening in the kitchen is also a good way to spend time with your customers and other stakeholders. Many people’s jobs involve a lot of invitations to dinners and they tend to know the restaurants of downtown Helsinki inside and out. But how many of them have participated in preparing their own gourmet dinner?

Kitchen duel - an exciting evening in the kitchen

The Kitchen Duel starts with our cheerful assistants receiving the participants in our cozy lounge. Next, we are invited to the kitchen, where the chef explains the evening’s program and divides everyone into two teams. The goal of this kitchen duel is for both teams to prepare a three-course menu while competing against each other. Throughout the competition, we’ll score teamwork, kitchen skills, and the presentation, taste, and texture for each dish. Our impartial and highly skilled chef will serve as the judge.

After the teams are formed, we’ll hold a Master Class in the kitchen, during which the chef goes through the recipes and shares some helpful tips with the competitors. Now the teams are ready to get to work!

When the dishes are ready and mouth-watering aromas fill the air, both teams put the finishing touches to their courses for their own team and the judge. Finally, we’ll gather around a beautifully set table to enjoy the results of our teamwork. Each team presents their dishes, which we’ll savor together, paired with wines or other drinks that complement the food.
For each course, team representatives return to the kitchen to put the final touches on their plates, which they then bring out for everyone to enjoy. At the end of the evening, our chef announces the results of the competition, and the winners can congratulate each other on a job well done.
